The plumbing isn’t completely done, but it’s taken significant shape that I’m moving on to making something else meanwhile: the cab.<\/p>\n

The cab is most likely constructed in red oak in frames and panels. The pieces fit together in tongue-and-groove fashion. I’ve recreated the fitting details and modeled each frame and panel separately.<\/p>\n

Speaking of proportions, the Holliday’s cab is actually out of proportion to the engine’s 5\/8 scale. The cab needs to be large to hold the crew, and subsequently it appears much bigger than the cabs you’d see on other 4-4-0s.<\/p>\n
