We’ve got a video, we’ve got a new video here!
See? Nobody cares.
But in case YOU do, check it out!
Let’s compare pictures also with the old model, which will make the improvements so very obvious. No further commentaries needed here, just steamy hot pictures.
Now we’ll compare the meshes: Left side is new, right side is old. Despite the increase in modeling details, the mesh is much cleaner!
Next big items are the plumbing modeling, the backhead, the cab, and the coding of the firing dynamics, thermodynamics, physics, and plumbing/controls. Whew. But, I might take a break and finish the tender first.
I’m so happy to see all this progressing. And what’s interesting is how different the quality is when you compare the old model to the new model. The difference is like night and day! Keep up the great work, all this has really re-ignited that spark I have for the railroad sim. It’s always a fun sim to play and now with this new model, I can imagine the sheer realism!
Thanks, Alex, same sentiments here 🙂
…but I do hope that, with all this details building on top of details, this thing can actually run, at least on *most* computers . I don’t know yet how well it’ll actually work in production, so I hesitate to say if this is the “official” new sim at the moment…
